So you are in NEW YORK CITY with the family and kids. You are overwhelmed with the size of New York and have no idea how to keep you kids amused. Sometimes it might be hard to keep kids interested in some New York attractions.

New York City is kid- and teen-friendly. New Yok has great parks, museums, restaurants and toy stores catering to youngsters’ every wish all over the five boroughs. The City is one giant playground for kids and adults alike as well as a fascinating with many things to explore..

With so much to see and do in you might not get all the things in in one visit. So you will need to come back for more.Here below is a start to a great vacation without nagging kids.

A day at the Museum: Depending on your kids’ preferences, or where you’re staying, you can begin the day at either the Upper West Side’s American Museum of Natural History (has entrance fee). The movie “Night at the Museum” will come to mind when you visit there. If you haven’t seen the movie watch it with the kids prior to going. There is a dinosaur hall with real fossils and models. They have a planetarium, with seating so you can have an adventure in space. There are hands on exhibits in the Discovery Room and they also have an Imax theater. Check time schedules for planetarium and Imax.At The Metropolitan Museum of Art on The Upper East Side is one of the most popular museums in the world. When you get there pick up a family guide at an information desk and inquire about that day’s activities, which often include kids’ tours and sketching or craft projects. There is wide range of art that showcases classic artwork, contemporary pieces and the history of world culture on display.Don’t forget to visit the gift shops to buy some postcards of pictures or exhibitions you’d like to remember. Had enough of museums now head out to Central Park. There are spectacular playgrounds in Central Park. There is a zoo, carousel, row boating and so much more. Rent a bike at Bike and Roll or a Citibike . There are food vendors scattered through the park so pick up a hot dog or ice cream. In the nice weather you will also find street performers for your entertainment.Don’t forget FAO Schwartz 5th Ave. and 59th St. with life size stuffed animals, doll and toy collections and candy store. This is where the movie “Big” was filmed.
